Job Summary
Lead real estate transactions from initial sourcing through closing by building relationships with brokers, developers, and industry partners to identify acquisition and disposition opportunities. Execute financial underwriting, valuation analysis, and due diligence while preparing models, Letters of Intent, and Board materials to support investment decisions. Conduct property inspections, market tours, and rent analyses across Canada, collaborating with legal counsel, lenders, and internal stakeholders to finalize negotiations. Prepare acquisition reports and present recommendations to senior leadership and the Board of Trustees, while overseeing IFRS valuation and portfolio performance analysis. Report directly to the President of Skyline Apartment REIT in Guelph, ON.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related discipline
- Progressive experience in commercial real estate acquisitions, investments, asset management, investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance
- Strong financial modeling, underwriting, valuation, and analytical skills
- Experience managing commercial real estate transactions from origination through closing
- Knowledge of commercial real estate due diligence, financing, and transaction documentation
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel for property inspections, market tours, and transaction activities
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of IFRS valuation principles and financial reporting is considered an asset
