Job Summary
Counsel for RBC’s U.S. Law Group focused on global derivatives regulatory matters across Macro/Spread and fixed income, advising on regulatory requirements for Swap Dealer/Security-Based Swap Dealer, regulatory margins, and supporting front-office and control functions on regulatory inquiries and remediation across capital markets products (FX, rates, credit, and electronic trading). The role emphasizes regulatory guidance, collaboration with internal stakeholders, and managing external counsel engagements. Requires a U.S. JD and bar admission, 3+ years of relevant banking/financial services law experience, and strong communication and process-management skills.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate
- bar admission in good standing in a U.S. state (at least in-house New Jersey certification)
- 3-9+ years of experience in banking/financial services law
- substantial knowledge of U.S. securities laws and regulations
- experience advising on regulatory matters in capital markets
- ability to collaborate with front office, litigation, control functions
- ability to manage external counsel relationships
