Job Summary

Assist the Director of Sales in supervising Sales Managers, Catering Managers, and Sales Administrators while managing direct sales efforts, lead follow-ups, and sales administration. Conduct daily business reviews, coordinate group and transient bookings, and execute site inspections for clients. Initiate sales solicitations, prepare end-of-month and annual reports, and monitor top accounts to ensure revenue goals are met. Motivate and coach the Sales and Catering team, conduct performance appraisals, and assist in hiring and development. Manage the Sales incentive plan, execute sales trips, and react to market trends with promotions. Meet and greet onsite contacts, handle inquiries, and develop networking opportunities through professional associations.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of progressive hotel sales experience
  • 4-year college degree and at least 3 years of related experience
  • 2-year college degree and at least 4 years of hotel sales experience
  • Valid driver's license in the applicable state
  • Skilled in Windows
  • Skilled in Company approved spreadsheets
  • Skilled in word processing
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
  • Ability to listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Ability to approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards
  • Ability to maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Ability to comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Ability to maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions
  • Ability to be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
  • Ability to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ability to understand all GDS systems
  • Ability to understand ISIS
  • Ability to understand loading rates into ISIS/GDS
  • Ability to develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities and events
  • Ability to react to negative trends in the market place by implementing blitzes or catering promotions
  • Ability to handle inquiries as part of Inquiry Day Program
  • Ability to abide by Prime Selling Time (PST)
  • Ability to attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • Ability to participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
