Job Summary
The Associate Designer is responsible for designing Men's apparel under the guidance of a Sr. Designer. Key responsibilities include contributing to the design team through creative ideas, developing themes and fabrics, and managing the product through the development cycle. The role requires collaboration with merchandising and product development, presenting design ideas, conducting market and material research, and attending fit sessions. Candidates should have a strong background in apparel design, excellent communication skills, and experience with design software. Mentorship of interns may be involved.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Apparel or Fashion Design or a relevant field or equivalent experience
- 2-5 years of relevant professional experience
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to multitask and troubleshoot
- Independently manages projects or assignments with moderate to high complexity
Desired Qualifications
- Fluency in Centric, Illustrator, and Miro
- Knowledge of CAD and 3D software
- Ability to do flat drawings/sketches for design and prototypes
- Creatively driven with a strong point of view
- Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication, and exceptional follow-up skills
- Strong collaboration, process-driven, creative problem-solving
