Job Summary
Assist the design director with product development execution, including sketching, detail sketches, yarn selection, tech-packing, and trend presentation boards. Coordinate samples by checking in protos and salesman samples, arranging racks, and measuring for fitting. Conduct market research, shop retail floors, and participate in group meetings to develop comprehensive knowledge of customers and competition. Generate and update line sheets and color cards while sending and following up on packages for overseas vendors. Attend fittings with production and technical design to communicate departmental needs effectively. Adhere to due dates and adjust to changing business needs and calendar changes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of an associate's degree in Fashion or BA in related science
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in knits category
- Knowledge of Gauge, Stitches and Garment Construction
- Knowledge of Illustrator, PLM and Photoshop
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Highly detail oriented and meticulous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
