Job Summary
Associate Dean of Students to lead student culture and behavioral interventions at Making Waves Academy. Responsibilities include investigating reports and referrals, leading restorative interventions for 1:1, small group, and classroom-wide contexts, maintaining disciplinary records in PowerSchool with high accuracy, developing behavioral data reports aligned with WASC/LCAP goals, training faculty and staff in Tier 1 restorative practices, and engaging families from historically underserved communities to support students’ navigation of the MWA ecosystem. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience with students and families in underserved communities; knowledge of Restorative Justice and PBIS frameworks; strong communication and data-tracking skills; ability to balance operational urgency with empathy. Spanish fluency is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of direct experience serving students (ages 10–19) and families from historically underserved communities
- Proven track record in incident investigation and the application of school disciplinary policy
- Deep understanding of Restorative Justice and PBIS frameworks
