Associate Data Product Owner

Job Summary

Research and verify corporate actions such as rights offerings, splits, and dividends by accurately inputting them into proprietary databases while monitoring global news sources for new announcements. Ensure all entries are meticulously verified with supporting evidence stored, providing guidance to resolve non-routine issues and maintain high data quality standards for indices and analytics. Implement robust data governance practices including validation and auditing, and coordinate with Product Leads, Index Design, and Technology teams to enhance system capabilities. Manage multiple projects involving requirements gathering, analytical thinking, data compilation, and documentation, while providing backup functions for regional team members. Work from the office a minimum of two days per week.

Required Qualifications

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Excellent understanding of financial markets
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in relational databases
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities to solve original, non-routine problems in a timely and insightful manner

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in math, finance, business, or relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Databricks
  • Python programming
  • ETL processes like Power Automate
  • CFA
  • Advanced degree in business, math, economics, or finance
  • Direct experience at an index provider and/or financial institution focused on index tracking/replication or portfolio management
  • Experience with corporate action research
  • Proficient in interpreting and analyzing corporate filings and related documents, as well as applying that analysis to the data inputs underlying S&P DJI Indices
  • Understanding of how indices are used and the impact corporate events and rebalance changes have on both indices and financial portfolios
  • Knowledge of vendor terminals and vendor data analytical platforms
