Job Summary
Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients while reviewing disclosure and attending daily courts for remands. Schedule pre-trials and judicial pre-trials, conduct legal research and analysis on various issues, and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files throughout the case lifecycle. This Associate Criminal Defense Lawyer role is remote but requires a license to practice in Ontario and two to five years of experience. Required Qualifications
- license to practice law in Ontario
- good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- two to five years of experience in criminal law
- Strong advocacy and courtroom skills
- thorough understanding and expertise in criminal defense matters
- charges, trials, and pleas
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
