Job Summary
Lead copy development for diagnostics businesses by transforming complex scientific and clinical content into compelling, customer-focused marketing while maintaining strict regulatory accuracy and brand voice. Guide a pod of writers through the full creative journey, from strategy and planning to editing and proofreading, ensuring alignment with intended use and approved claims. Coach the team on balancing creativity with scientific rigor, manage resourcing to meet strategic objectives and timelines, and build trusted partnerships across Marketing, Product, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory teams. This Associate Creative Director role operates within Thermo Fisher Scientific's internal creative agency, supporting global diagnostics divisions with high-impact written and verbal communications.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years related experience in leading creative writing strategy with a focus on creative and technical writing within diagnostics, life sciences, healthcare, medical devices, or similarly regulated scientific industries
- Bachelor's Degree - Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, Advertising or similar
- Demonstrated experience translating dense scientific, clinical, or technical content into compelling marketing communications
- Strong understanding of the unique challenges of marketing within regulated healthcare, diagnostics, or life sciences environments
- Comfortable collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure scientific accuracy while maintaining engaging, customer-centric messaging
- Talent for high-caliber creative ideation and marketing writing, and experience in writing and directing copy for both on and off-line marketing collateral
- Outstanding writing skills demonstrating excellent grammar, attention to detail, and story construction skills
- Experience leading a creative writing team and strong understanding of advertising and marketing principles, strategies, tactics, technologies and production
- Ability to communicate effectively; strong presentation skills, and ability to respond well to critical feedback
- Familiarity using AI-enabled content development tools and modern creative workflows while maintaining editorial quality, scientific accuracy, and brand standards
