Associate Counsel

Job Summary
Manage regional legal matters and projects across commercial law, contracts, and regulatory compliance under senior counsel direction. Collaborate with business leaders to mitigate commercial risks and support corporate strategies in Latin America, specifically Colombia. Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents while providing actionable advice on local and international regulatory developments. Assist senior counsel with compliance matters and serve as a legal advocate for external constituents. Requires a Colombian law degree, active professional license, and two to five years of in-house or law firm experience. Full fluency in Spanish and English is mandatory. No travel is required.
Required Qualifications
- Law Degree from a Colombian or recognized Latin American university
- Active tarjeta profesional
- Admission to practice in other CALA jurisdictions is a plus
- Excellent academic credentials
- 2 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
- 5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
- Experience as a practicing attorney with developing expertise in relevant practice areas such as commercial law, contracts, employment law, or regulatory/compliance
- Experience in legal document drafting, review, and negotiations
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to work across multiple jurisdictions in the CALA region
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to draft legal contracts and documents
