Job Summary
Associate Counsel to defend lawsuits in New York courts and other first-party insurance defense; responsibilities include researching laws and preparing briefs, opinions, and memoranda; rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value; preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations under oath; defending by trial or dispositive hearing; travel as required; must be admitted to the New York Bar, able to travel, and work in a remote-capable role covering Queens, NY and Melville, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED
- Admission to the New York Bar REQUIRED
- Licensed in good standing to practice law in New York
- Must be able to travel as required
- Strong written communication and organizational skills
- Ability to follow complex instructions and manage multiple tasks
- Travel to trials, hearings, depositions, and conferences as needed
