Job Summary
Associate Counsel, DTC & Privacy at VF will provide hands-on legal support to the Digital Technology team and brand digital/marketing teams, advising on and negotiating high-volume technology contracts to support VF’s DTC and digital operations while managing legal and commercial risk. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts, identifying and mitigating legal risks, conducting regulatory research, staying current on changes affecting the company, and communicating legal information clearly to both legal and non-legal audiences. Requirements include a JD, admission to the state bar in good standing, 3-5 years of legal experience, and strong knowledge of contract law with familiarity in data privacy and data security in commercial transactions. Exceptional negotiation, drafting, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple projects and interact with stakeholders across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing
- 3-5 years of legal experience
- Strong background in contract law, including negotiating technology agreements
- Familiarity with data privacy and data security issues in commercial transactions (e.g., data processing agreements, cross-border data transfers)
- Proven ability to manage complex legal projects and transactions while meeting deadlines
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong legal drafting and documentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Experience in a corporate setting preferred
