Associate Cost Manager

Job Summary
Associate Cost Manager responsible for maintaining the standard cost system, evaluating cost components (scrap, labor, machine rates), and updating bills of materials and routing. Leads month-end close, prepares estimates/quotes for product lines, develops close schedules, performs journal entries and reconciliations, and delivers accurate financial reporting. Analyzes standard cost variances (material price/usage, labor efficiency), prepares monthly variance summaries, supports forecasts and budgets, ensures inventory reporting and GL alignment with ERP, and oversees annual standard cost updates and inventory valuation. Partners with operations to identify excess/obsolete inventory, audits cycle counts, and supports ad hoc analyses and special projects. Requires 5+ years in cost accounting/manufacturing finance in production environments; strong GAAP knowledge; ERP experience (SAP/BPCS); bilingual English/Spanish; leadership experience. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, or related roles within a production or industrial environment
- Thorough working knowledge of US GAAP
- Advanced written and verbal communication in English and Spanish
- Experience managing standard cost systems, variance analysis, and inventory valuation
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, BPCS, or similar)
- Proven ability to lead or supervise accounting teams and manage month-end close
- Experience preparing financial reports, forecasts, and budgets with a focus on costing and inventory
- Strong analytical skills and ability to provide actionable insights
- Cross-functional collaboration with operations, supply chain, and finance teams
- Preferred: CPA, MBA or advanced degree; Big Four experience; disability or veteran-friendly language
