Job Summary
Associate, Crisis Communications in Weber Shandwick's Global Crisis and Issues Practice in New York. You will support a range of complex, high-profile corporate issues and crisis communications activities, including development of press releases, crisis plans, media strategies, reactive statements, talking points, FAQs, memos and crisis simulations; monitor and triage client issues; conduct research and distill findings into concise executive summaries and actionable recommendations; contribute to project development based on client preferences; prepare for and participate in client meetings with note-taking and status updates; serve as a role model to the team and contribute to an inclusive, high-performing culture; participate in on-duty rotations to cover evening and weekend hours. Key qualifications include strong writing, social/digital analytics fluency, crisis communications and/or public affairs experience, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage deadlines. Candidate with 1-2 years of experience and a BA/BS in related fields is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- BA or BS, preferably in Political Science, history, journalism, International Relations or similar fields
- 1-2 years of professional experience in an agency/strategic consulting firm, political campaign or organization, law or similar setting
- Strong writing skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Fluent in Microsoft Suite and proficiency in research, media and social monitoring platforms (e.g., Brandwatch, Sysomos, Cision, Muckrack)
- Familiarity with corporate financials
