Job Summary
Support AWS worldwide data center expansion through land acquisitions, leases, zoning entitlement work, and serviced licenses. Structure, draft, and negotiate agreements and leases ranging from standard contracts to complex, bespoke, high-value transactions. Provide daily legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members, manage outside counsel, and advise internal clients on existing portfolio matters. Resolve legal issues in commercial relationships, handle pre-litigation disputes, and implement process improvements across the team. This role requires a Juris Doctor and 2+ years of experience in real estate transactional drafting. Based in New York or Seattle with a salary range of $131,500 to $195,700 annually.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of real estate transactional documents (i.e. leases, lease amendments, purchase and sale agreements, easements, development agreements, co-ownership agreements etc.)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
- Experience with development/entitlement work
