Job Summary
Advise and represent clients in connection with high-value commercial and civil dispute matters before the Jersey courts or overseas. Draft complex documents with accuracy, prepare case analyses with cost estimates, and monitor work-in-progress against agreed budgets. Guide clients on strategy while building relationships to retain and attract new work, recognizing cross-selling opportunities between departments. Contribute to the firm's Know How, precedents, and CSR initiatives. Provide supervision and guidance to trainees and paralegals, delegating tasks and monitoring their progression. Requires a qualified lawyer with strong drafting skills and up to three years' post-qualification experience in civil or commercial litigation.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer (solicitor or barrister, qualified in a common law jurisdiction)
- A good working knowledge of civil law principles and procedural rules
- Strong drafting and research skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Jersey qualified
- Offshore law experience
- Experience of managing a caseload with cross-border elements
- Up to 3 years' post qualification experience in civil or commercial litigation or contentious insolvency
