Job Summary
As an Associate Claims Examiner at Kinsale Insurance, you will join a collaborative, fast-paced team to evaluate and resolve commercial insurance claims (Property and Liability) under supervision. You’ll conduct investigations through all stages of the claims process, evaluate coverage, and draft clear correspondence to policyholders. You’ll proactively communicate with policyholders, claimants, and stakeholders to inform on claim status, determine liability, assess exposure, and negotiate claims through to resolution. You will maintain accurate documentation in each claim file and drive timely, effective resolutions with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach. The role emphasizes strong written/verbal communication, analytical thinking, and the ability to thrive in a team environment, with clear career paths and opportunities for growth.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or relevant experience in the insurance industry
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage a high-volume claims desk
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- A team-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
- Strong negotiation skills and experience directing investigations are a plus
