Job Summary
Review, investigate, and document 1st party property claims under close supervision while gathering information from policyholders, witnesses, and third-party providers. Analyze leases, contracts, and by-laws to determine coverage for building damages and establish accurate scopes of loss for written estimates. Maintain accurate records in claim management systems and provide timely communication to customers and internal stakeholders. Participate in structured training covering policies, processes, and systems, including virtual, classroom, and on-the-job instruction. Demonstrate openness to continuous learning regarding AI and digital transformation while adapting to new technology rollouts. This role requires a valid driver's license and the ability to safely climb ladders, walk on roofs, and enter tight spaces during catastrophe deployments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- High School Diploma or GED
- one year of customer service experience
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and make effective decisions within established authority
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Basic conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated openness to continuous learning
- Must reside in the assigned territory (Montgomery County, MD area)
- Must be capable of safely climbing a ladder weighing approximately 38 to 49 pounds
- Must be capable of walking on roofs
- Must be capable of entering tight spaces (such as attic staircases and entries, crawl spaces, etc.)
- Must be capable of carrying, setting up and climbing a ladder when deploying to a catastrophe
