Associate Chief Health Officer (Primary Care)

Job Summary

Implement a strategic direction for health services in collaboration with the Chief Health Officer while overseeing assigned service lines and establishing clinical standards. Prioritize and integrate clinical programs, including disease management, population health, and care model advancement, to advance health equity and workforce wellbeing. Oversee Quality Management Teams by setting standards, designing metrics, reviewing data, and developing feedback systems in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Provide direct patient care for 16 hours weekly, including comprehensive assessments, diagnostics, treatment, and medication management. Mentor clinician managers, select personnel for hire and promotion, and evaluate staff performance to minimize turnover and foster a collaborative environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree or Doctoral degree in related clinical field
  • Five years of clinical practice experience
  • Two years in a clinical leadership role such as Medical Director or Associate Medical Director
  • Current and unrestricted license from the Texas Medical Board
  • Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas and current certification in area of specialty
  • Unrestricted licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas and current credentialing as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
  • MD/DO: Certification in a medical specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number for the purpose of writing prescriptions
  • Current Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration and/or Masters in Public Health
  • Experience in a managed care organization
  • Medicaid managed care experience
