Associate Chemist - Instrumental Wet Chemistry - Environment Testing- 1st Shift

Job Summary
Prepare and analyze environmental samples using standard analytical techniques and approved scientific methodology. Operate discrete analyzers, flow analyzers, TOC analyzers, and Ion Chromatography while performing routine instrument maintenance and sample purification. Execute organic, metals, PFAS, and HRMS sample preparation, followed by data evaluation, quantification, and reporting of results and unusual occurrences. Maintain current training documentation, manage QC samples, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality assurance standards. Work 1st shift, M-F, with training provided at the same hours.
Required Qualifications
- BS or BA in Chemistry or related field, Associate Degree, or 2 years of related laboratory experience in lieu of degree
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
- Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship
- Basic Minimum Qualifications
- Position is 1st shift, M-F
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Responsible for general housekeeping in work area
- Responsible for performing job functions in compliance with Eurofins Environment health and safety and quality assurance standards
- Responsible for keeping personal training documentation (training records, IDOC/DOC) current and accurate
- Responsible for timely completion of assigned/scheduled QC samples (MDL, LOD/LOQ, PT)
- As required, documents NCMs for projects with quality issues
- Understands and utilizes backlog reports to manage personal workload
- Works under close supervision using routine and standard methods
- Responsible for inventorying and stocking laboratory supplies
- Responsible for washing and inventories glassware
- Responsible for purging analyzed samples
- Proficient with IDOCs, for assigned methods carried out in the department
- Follow and learn appropriate protocols in one or more of the following disciplines
- Organic preparation
- Metals preparation and analysis
- PFAS sample preparation
- HRMS sample preparation
- Gas Chromatography
- Mass Spectrometry
- Radio Chemistry
- Wet Chemistry
- High Resolution preparation and analysis
- Low Resolution preparation and analysis
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with wet chemistry
- Previous experience in a lab or production setting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally
- Able to interpret written materials and communicate findings effectively
- Demonstrated ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and propose practical solutions
- Applies critical thinking to evaluate options and make decisions
- Effective collaboration skills to contribute to team goals and support department productivity goals
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
- Effectively balances multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy
- Comfortable using mathematical formulas and tools to perform calculations and analyze data
