Job Summary
Support the Chinese Works of Art Department with research and cataloguing of items to the highest standard according to scheduled deadlines. Assist with physical cataloguing, arranging photography, proof-reading texts, and preparing condition reports while corresponding with external experts. Provide comprehensive client services through swift, accurate verbal and written communication, responding to enquiries and photo-forms. Support all aspects of catalogue production and assist with layouts. Maintain diligent records of provenance, exhibition history, and literature references. Learn to evaluate works of art by assisting with research prior to estimate sessions. Operate in accordance with company rules on compliance and corporate governance.
Required Qualifications
- Chinese language (written and spoken)
- A minimum of 1-2 years of work experience
- A background in Asian Art History, with experience researching and writing about works of art
- Computer literate (excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented
- Ability to prioritize multiple highly important processes and responsibilities in a high-pressure environment and meet constant deadlines
- Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to establish close working relationships with a variety of people across the department and company
- Ability to work collaboratively on large projects while being confident and comfortable taking initiative and working on one's own
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to an exemplary level of client service
