Job Summary
Negotiate with vendors, analyze industry trends, and plan purchasing for Acme Tools' retail and online operations. Manage assigned product lines to ensure acceptable inventory turns, administer inventory control, and re-buy goods appropriately. Assist Buyers with merchandise programs, review special orders, and advise on vendor or customer issues. Maintain cycle service levels, assist with dead stock removal, and update vendor information in the ordering system. Coordinate price changes, check online listings for accuracy, and make decisions on warehouse shipments. Distribute price sheets, assist with planogram development, and secure promotional events with Marketing and eCommerce.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Prior experience working with purchasing and inventory control practices
- Proven organization, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent relationship-building abilities
- Strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Knowledge of calculating figures and amounts such as profit margins, discounts, interest, inventory turns, and percentages
- Energetic self-starter with the ability to work autonomously, as well as a part of a team environment
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Must reside in or plan to relocate to Grand Forks, ND
- Employment offers are contingent on results from a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Desired Qualifications
- Retail purchasing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of retail sales and eCommerce industries
- Tool and Equipment knowledge
- 2+ years of prior experience working with purchasing and inventory control practices
