Job Summary
Associate Buyer responsible for managing the product buying cycle for brands with lower impact and assisting the Buyer in managing the buying cycle for higher magnitude brands. Responsibilities include writing purchase orders and developing monthly flows for product buys, evaluating market trends and analytics to aid assortment building, participating in vendor meetings, negotiating returns and markdowns, testing new vendors for stores, tracking orders cross-functionally with logistics/distribution/merchandising, and communicating buy plans to Buyers and Merchandisers. Requires 2-5 years in buying/merchandising, strong retail math skills, analytical detail orientation, proficiency with multiple software platforms, and strong collaboration, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years’ experience in buying/merchandising
- Adept at retail math (sell thru, margin, inventory sales)
- Highly analytical and detail oriented
- Ability to utilize multiple software platforms
- Strong communication skills (collaboration/negotiation)
- Strong interpersonal skills
