Associate Buyer - Dry Grocery

Job Summary
This role is responsible for working with the Buyer to set the strategy for the assortment, pricing, promotion, planogram and marketing of grocery categories to deliver to customer expectations and the financial plan, and for managing vendor relationships. The associate buyer will visit stores to assess assortments, pricing, and store presentation; use internal and external market information to anticipate trends and drive item selection; collaborate with the Buyer and Merchandise Planning to develop the financial plan and open-to-buy forecasts; develop and approve master and version planograms; manage markdowns and pricing strategies; negotiate with vendors for markdown support or returns; coordinate with pricing, promotional planning and inventory to support promotional strategy; and evaluate marketing effectiveness for categories. What You Bring includes a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in retail (experience in buying, inventory or analysis preferred), knowledge of market drivers, planning and negotiations skills, and proficiency with office software. This is a full-time position based in Grand Rapids, MI.
Required Qualifications
