Job Summary
Make all purchasing decisions independently to satisfy customer demand and achieve sales, gross margin, and turnover targets. Curate a distinguished off-price assortment by competitively shopping the marketplace, identifying white space opportunities, and collaborating with vendors on product development. Execute in-season assortment strategies by analyzing sales trends, adjusting pricing plans, and deciding on item-level changes based on financial forecasts. Partner with planning and financial teams to drive promotional strategies and build seasonal components aligned with company priorities. Maintain an industry presence to cultivate vendor relationships, negotiate win-win solutions, and ensure timely collection of markdowns and returns.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
- 3+ years of direct experience
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to access and review written and electronic information
- Ability to move within the work environment and interact with workplace materials as needed to carry out job responsibilities
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs
