Job Summary
Gather business requirements from stakeholders, draft specifications and user stories, and clarify gaps before work reaches developers. Validate reports, dashboards, and data extracts for accuracy, execute test plans, and log defects through resolution. Support ad hoc reporting by writing SQL queries, building recurring trackers in Excel, and assembling data for distribution. Maintain process documentation, workflow diagrams, and knowledge base articles while tracking project tasks and coordinating meetings. Handle protected health information in compliance with HIPAA standards and the Minimum Necessary rule. This entry-level development role offers structured mentorship to build proficiency in analytics and healthcare program support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Health Information Management, Public Health, or related field
- 0-2 years of professional experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, pivot tables, and common formulas
- Foundational understanding of relational data concepts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to organize and track multiple assignments
- Ability to ask clarifying questions when requirements are incomplete or unclear
- Ability to work collaboratively and to accept direction, coaching, and constructive feedback
- Ability to handle confidential information and protected health information in accordance with HIPAA requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Coursework, certificate, or internship experience in data analytics, business analysis, health informatics, or information systems
- Introductory experience writing SQL SELECT queries against a relational database
- Exposure to reporting or visualization tools such as SSRS, Power BI, or Tableau
