Job Summary

Analyze State and federally funded budget proposals, identify optimal funding methods, and compile the draft agency budget for administrator approval. Monitor expenditures, maintain fiscal records, and submit required reports to the Division of the Budget and the Office of the State Comptroller. Assign and review staff work, train new employees, and develop written budgetary instructions for agency personnel. Recommend alternative fiscal strategies, such as fund transfers or temporary staffing requests, to meet agency goals. Perform agency-wide budget tasks and complete statutory reports. This permanent, office-based position supports the Division of Fiscal Management in cultivating a thriving food and agriculture industry.

Required Qualifications

  • one year of permanent, competitive service in a title designated as appropriate for administrative transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law
  • one year of permanent, competitive service in a title designated as appropriate for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law
  • one year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service as a Senior Budgeting Analyst, G-18
  • one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Senior Budgeting Analyst, G-18
  • one year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service as an Associate Budgeting Analyst, SG-23
