Job Summary
Prepare submissions, approach carriers for quotes, and negotiate coverage while managing client coverage goals and priorities. Solicit responses to submissions, present information to underwriters verbally and in written form, and identify errors in documents to correct with clients or underwriters. Gather loss summaries and analysis as needed, ensuring accurate records and compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Facilitate clear communication of coverage terms between clients and underwriters to ensure delivered policies align with expectations. Maintain relationships with carriers, including in-person contact with senior team members, and provide training and guidance to Production Assistants.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of relevant insurance experience
- Property & Casualty and Surplus Lines Licenses (as required by state)
- Strong organizational, follow-up, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills to accurately define problems, gather and interpret relevant data, establish key facts, and draw well-founded conclusions efficiently
- Proactive approach to problem-solving, exhibiting good listening skills and a willingness to support others
- Intermediate negotiation skills with the ability to influence and persuade key stakeholders
- Able to effectively interact with and adapt to diverse personality and communication styles
- Flexibility in work schedule and ability to adapt to changing demands of the position
- Independently manages time to get the job done with minimal supervision
- Intermediate skill level in PC software (Word, Excel and other software, as required)
- Some daily travel may include limited time spent outside in the elements as part of the normal commute
