Job Summary

Associate BDM responsible for business development in Lubumbashi region, implementing RTM with local distributors, analyzing distribution networks and route to market, delivering SFA metrics (coverage, strike rate, basket size per outlet), and optimizing product mix per channel. Lead distributor relationships, coordinate marketing plans with West and Central Africa Marketing Team, ensure credit control and timely collection of sales, and drive market intelligence through regular field visits to understand local market trends. Responsibilities include training local sales teams, ensuring forecast accuracy with 3+3 Order Processing, identifying growth opportunities, monitoring trade expenses, and supporting trade marketing initiatives (POSM, promotions) to improve shelf visibility. Requires 3-5 years in FMCG sales/BDM, proficiency in PowerPoint & Excel, strong negotiation and analytics, willingness to travel 70% of the time, and fluency in English (French a plus).

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years in a Sales Management or BDM role in FMCG or relevant consumer goods industry in Congo, preferably Lubumbashi
  • Perfect knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint & Excel)
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent negotiation and business acumen
  • Ability to identify new sales opportunities and develop distributor relationships
  • Ability to work autonomously and meet tight deadlines
  • Available for intensive field travel (70% of the time)
  • Knowledge of local language(s) a plus
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
