Job Summary
Associate Auto Adjuster at USAA evaluates and settles auto claims including simple comprehensive and collision scenarios (single vehicle, parked/unoccupied, clear liability) as well as related coverages (glass, roadside, rental). The role requires applying basic auto coverage knowledge, documenting the thought process for damage evaluation and settlement decisions, and collaborating with internal and external partners to facilitate timely resolutions. Responsibilities include proactive problem solving within authority guidelines, communicating clearly through multiple channels to support members and claimants, handling workload surges including CAT events (potential after-hours work), and developing foundational knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance products and internal processes. May involve CAT deployment travel and participation in work outside normal hours; candidates should demonstrate strong customer service, multi-tasking, and ability to navigate multiple business applications. US military experience or military spouse/domestic partner is noted as a preferred differentiator.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service across multiple channels
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task while using multiple applications
- Successfully acquire an insurance adjuster license and applicable state registrations within 90 days of hire
- Bachelor’s degree is a plus (not required)
- Successful completion of job-related assessments
- Must be able to support CAT deployment travel as needed
- Active-duty military spouse preference noted
