Job Summary
Associate, Australian Equity Research in the Small-Mid cap sector. Responsible for fundamental analysis of companies; build and update financial models in Excel; link P&L, balance sheet, and cash flows; update historical financials from public data; develop drivers for future estimates; perform valuation (DCF and multiples), generate high-quality research reports and presentations; maintain industry data databases; support Lead Analyst in answering institutional investor queries; identify risks; build industry contacts; travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or other quantitative field
- Minimum 2 years’ full-time work experience in equity research, corporate finance at a bank, stockbroking, investment fund or accounting firm
- Strong communication and writing skills with ability to interact with CEO/CFO/IR
- Strong Excel skills and ability to build and maintain financial models, link financial statements, and source data from multiple sources
- Flexibility to travel when needed
- Nice-to-have CFA or Accounting qualification; relevant post-graduate qualification; experience with FactSet or Bloomberg
