Job Summary
Execute data-driven testing procedures under supervision to ensure compliance with internal policies and evaluate data quality issues. Prepare documentation, identify root causes for exceptions or inefficient practices, and propose actionable recommendations for internal controls. Articulate testing strategies clearly to audit peers while building relationships with internal stakeholders. Engage in learning opportunities to develop core analytical skills and support Wdesk maintenance activities. This role supports the Auditing team in risk-based assurance engagements, requiring travel up to 20% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, information systems, data analytics, mathematics, business, or a related field
- One to two years of related professional experience, preferably within the insurance industry or public accounting
- Foundational understanding of audit, risk management, internal controls, or assurance practices
- Foundational analytics experience, including SQL, Python, Excel/Power Query, Power BI, or similar tools
- Ability to retrieve, validate, reconcile, analyze, and document data used in audit procedures
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, root-cause analysis, data-quality, documentation, and communication skills
- Interest in automation, AI-enabled productivity, and repeatable analytics routines
- Ability and willingness to learn Wdesk maintenance and audit management system support activities
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- This position is based in our Chicago Corporate office and is a hybrid position with a 65 day remote-day bank
