Associate Attorney – Personal Injury Litigation (3–7 Years Experience)

Job Summary
Manage a litigation caseload from filing through resolution, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and appellate-quality legal memoranda. Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, physicians, and experts while attending court appearances, hearings, status conferences, mediations, and arbitrations. Develop litigation strategy in collaboration with senior attorneys, negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel, and prepare cases for trial including witness preparation and exhibit organization. Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status and litigation strategy, conduct legal research, and remain current on developments in Illinois personal injury law.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Illinois and good standing with the Illinois Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission (ARDC).
- 3–7 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in personal injury or insurance defense.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional demeanor and outstanding client communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience handling personal injury, third-party negligence, or workers' compensation matters.
- Deposition experience.
- Courtroom experience, including motion practice and evidentiary hearings.
- Trial preparation experience.
- Experience negotiating settlements and participating in mediations.
- Familiarity with Filevine or similar case management software.
