Job Summary
Associate Attorney opportunity in Orlando with a hybrid work arrangement. Handles a range of defense-related matters under partner supervision, including general liability, construction defect, and insurance defense. Requires Florida bar admission and a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, with 3+ years of civil defense litigation experience (including depositions, hearings, motions, and discovery). Responsibilities include drafting petitions/pleadings, attending hearings and depositions, and assisting with mediation and trial; must be willing to bill and meet client deadlines. Required Qualifications
- Florida bar license in good standing
- JD from an ABA approved law school
- Minimum of 3+ years of civil defense litigation experience (preferably in personal injury, bodily injury, general liability, construction defect and/or insurance defense)
- Experience managing up to 30 cases simultaneously
- Experience taking and defending depositions; appearance in court; drafting motions and discovery; mediation and trial experience a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently; client communication
- Ability to bill and meet deadlines
- Mentoring junior associates a plus
- Proficiency with basic computer software (Microsoft Office, internet, spreadsheets, word processing)
- Self-motivation and self-starter attitude
