Job Summary
Independently manage insurance defense and civil litigation matters from inception through resolution, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents while conducting legal research and preparing substantive analysis. Take and defend depositions, appear at hearings and mediations, develop litigation strategy, and negotiate settlements. Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel while maintaining accurate billing records to meet annual billable hour expectations. Collaborate with partners on complex legal matters in Woodland Hills, California. Candidates must be licensed in California with five or more years of civil litigation experience.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active California Bar license in good standing
- 5+ years of civil litigation experience
- Ability to independently manage multiple litigation matters
Desired Qualifications
- Significant insurance defense experience strongly preferred
- Trial experience or substantial trial preparation experience is a plus
