Job Summary
Draft and respond to petitions, motions, and written discovery; attend hearings, meetings, and depositions; prepare for mediations and trials. Handle a caseload of up to 25+ cases under partner supervision, including defense of premises liability, personal injury, and general liability. Must be willing to bill and maintain client confidentiality. Requires FL bar license and 1-3 years of civil defense litigation experience. Hybrid work in Tampa with quarterly bonuses based on billable hours.
Required Qualifications
- FL bar license in good standing
- JD from an ABA approved law school
- 1-3 years of civil defense litigation experience
- Experience working on up to 25+ cases at once
- Experience attending and defending depositions
- Experience taking depositions
- Experience with appearance in court
- Experience with motion and discovery drafting
- Basic knowledge of computer operation
- Basic knowledge of internet software
- Basic knowledge of spreadsheet software
- Basic knowledge of word processing software
- Ability to type and operate office equipment
- Self-motivation
- Ability to work well independently
- Strong client communication skills
- Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
- Ability to listen and get clarification
- Ability to respond well to questions
- Ability to participate in meetings when required
- Ability to write clearly and informatively
