Job Summary
Associate Attorney for General Liability handling civil litigation duties: file review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action; extensive legal research and drafting of substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs; annual billable hours commitment; representing clients in court, at arbitrations, and in depositions; drafting and responding to discovery; expert witness retention and collaboration; trial preparation and attendance; some travel may be required; requires 2+ years civil litigation experience with an emphasis in insurance defense; admitted to GA bar; ABA-approved law degree; strong analytical, research, and communication skills; capable of working in a team and managing workloads; Atlanta, GA option.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school
- Admitted to practice in the state of GA (other states a plus but not required)
- Minimum of 2 years of civil litigation experience with an emphasis in insurance defense
- Experience handling civil cases from beginning to end
- Experience taking and defending depositions including 30(b)(6) and experts
- Drafting and arguing substantive motions
- Participation in negotiations and mediations
- Excellent research abilities and written and oral communication skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to self-manage and work in a team environment
- Must respond promptly to e-mails and phone inquiries
