Associate Attorney - Commercial Lending

Job Summary
Associate Attorney to join Chambliss’s commercial lending practice in Chattanooga, TN. Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial loan documents (loan agreements, security deeds, promissory notes, security agreements, guaranties, intercreditor agreements); structuring and documenting complex lending transactions (senior and subordinated debt, construction loans, revolving facilities, term loans, asset-based loans); coordinating multi-jurisdictional transactions with local counsel; conducting due diligence on borrowers and collateral; reviewing UCC searches, title reports, and corporate documents; identifying legal risks in lending transactions; ensuring compliance with federal/state lending laws; staying current on banking regulations; developing/update form documents and internal policies; handling workouts and restructurings; collaborating with relationship managers, credit analysts, and underwriters. Requirements include a J.D. from an accredited law school and activeGeorgia Bar status with willingness to become Tennessee-licensed; excellent research/writing/analytical/communication skills; ability to work in a team; and relevant experience in commercial real estate and business lending. Comprehensive compensation includes base salary, bonus opportunities, 401(k) with company match, health/dental/vision, CLE support, conference participation, and membership dues coverage. Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active and in good standing with the Georgia Bar and willing to become licensed in Tennessee
- Excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience in commercial lending and related documents (commercial real estate lending, business lending, financing transactions)
- Ability to coordinate multi-jurisdictional transactions and work with local counsel
- Ability to stay current on banking regulations
- FLSA Exempt status awareness
- Compliance with federal and state lending laws and regulations
