Job Summary
Handle a wide variety of business litigation matters from inception to resolution, including breach of contract, partnership dissolution, real estate, and construction disputes. Manage every aspect of cases by conducting legal strategy, research, drafting pleadings and motions, overseeing discovery, arguing motions in court, attending mediations, and trial. Work with diverse clients and opposing counsel while collaborating with experienced partners to achieve successful outcomes. This Associate Attorney role offers immediate hands-on experience within an award-winning mid-sized law firm recognized for excellence in the legal community.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ year of experience as an attorney handling a variety of business litigation matters involving corporate, construction, real estate, and other business disputes
- Current admission to the California State Bar
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Exceptional communication and advocacy skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to interface confidently with sophisticated clients, as well as opposing counsel
- Ability and/or desire to manage a caseload independently, while also working collaboratively with team members
- Client-focused mindset and a passion for achieving successful outcomes
Desired Qualifications
- Experienced in preparing pleadings, propounding and responding to discovery, drafting motions and legal briefs, taking and defending depositions, communicating with clients and opposing counsel, and appearing in court
- Arbitration and/or trial experience
- Experience in handling transactional matters including forming business entities, drafting construction contracts, purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, and other commercial contracts
