Job Summary
Design and simulate high-speed analog mixed-signal IC products from concept to manufacturing using leading-edge CMOS and BiCMOS technologies. Work proactively with the extended team to implement new designs to specification, capture simulation results, and prepare technical reviews and product documentation. Evaluate high-speed analog circuits in the lab and report work progress while contributing to improved design best-practices. You will be mentored by senior engineers to grow technically and professionally, supported by virtual learning, in-person courses, and technical conferences. This role sits within Semtech's Signal Integrity Products group, where high-speed chips enable hyperscale data centers, 5G wireless, and ultra-fast connectivity for AI networks.
Required Qualifications
- BASc degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- significant IC design content
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Design experience in high-speed CMOS and/or BiCMOS
- appreciation of high-speed/RF design and layout concepts
- device models
- parasitics and other non-idealities affecting circuit performance
- Thorough understanding of analog circuit theory
- transmission lines
- device fundamentals
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- ability to excel in a dynamic team environment
- Experience with analog CAD tools, such as Cadence Virtuoso or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- relevant work experience in the field
- RF modelling
- Matlab
- system modelling software knowledge
- Familiarity of high-speed components such as VCOs, PLLs, wide-band amplifiers and data converters
- Hands-on experience with high-speed lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and oscilloscopes
- knowledge of scripting languages such as Python
