Job Summary

Design and simulate high-speed analog mixed-signal IC products from concept to manufacturing using leading-edge CMOS and BiCMOS technologies. Work proactively with the extended team to implement new designs to specification, capture simulation results and methodologies, and prepare technical reviews and product documentation. Evaluate high-speed analog circuits in the lab and plan progress reports while leveraging advanced EDA/simulation tools. You will be mentored by senior engineers to grow technically as you contribute to improving design best-practices. This role supports Semtech's Signal Integrity Products group, enabling high-performance optical and electrical networks for hyperscale data centers, 5G wireless, and AI infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum BASc degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Design experience in high-speed CMOS and/or BiCMOS
  • Appreciation of high-speed/RF design and layout concepts
  • Understanding of device models, parasitics and other non-idealities affecting circuit performance
  • Good understanding of analog circuit layout best practices (i.e. matching, parasitic effects, reliability, electromigration, etc.)
  • Thorough understanding of analog circuit theory, transmission lines, and device fundamentals
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic team environment which values growth and innovation
  • Experience with analog CAD tools, such as Cadence Virtuoso or equivalent

Desired Qualifications

  • Relevant work experience in the field
  • RF modelling (i.e. HFSS, EMX, etc.)
  • Matlab / Simulink, or system modelling software knowledge
  • Familiarity of high-speed components such as VCOs, PLLs, wide-band amplifiers and data converters
  • Hands-on experience with high-speed lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and oscilloscopes
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python
