Job Summary

Source, evaluate, and underwrite office acquisition opportunities in Northern California by building financial models in Excel and ARGUS. Perform market research, leasing analysis, and investment valuations while coordinating due diligence with legal counsel, brokers, and lenders. Prepare investment committee materials, negotiate purchase agreements, and support transaction execution from initial screening through closing. Develop relationships with market participants to identify new opportunities and monitor capital markets activity. Provide analytical support throughout the acquisition process, serving as a member of various project teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three or more years of commercial real estate investment or acquisitions experience
  • Demonstrated experience underwriting and executing commercial real estate acquisition transactions
  • Strong financial modeling experience utilizing Excel and ARGUS
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and ARGUS Enterprise
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis skills
  • Ability to analyze real estate from a strategic point of view
  • Ability to analyze real estate and industry trends from a strategic point of view
  • Ability to analyze and interpret various types of data to draw conclusions and solve problems
  • Ability to perform numerical and financial calculations and analysis
  • Ability to exchange ideas, information, and opinions with others to formulate policies and programs and/or arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions, or solutions
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think creatively and contribute to project success
  • Ability to successfully manage a variety of tasks within a tight time schedule
  • Demonstrate strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Ability to interact with employees, visitors, and business partners with poise and diplomacy
  • Ability to establish and maintain a cooperative working atmosphere among staff

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA
  • Institutional office acquisitions experience with a leading brokerage, private equity real estate firm, REIT, investment manager, or developer with an active acquisitions platform
  • Work experience or educational background in finance, real estate, economics, math, engineering, or a related discipline
