Job Summary
Prepare journal entries and schedules to support monthly financial close processes, while performing balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance. Assist with accounts payable, cash payments, payroll accounting, and expense management workflows, including analyzing variances and explaining fluctuations to stakeholders. Maintain detailed documentation and audit trails, collaborate with cross-functional teams to code invoices and route approvals, and identify opportunities to streamline routine accounting processes. Requires 1–2 years of accounting experience, proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, and ability to work PST or MST hours. Compensation starts at $2,500 USD per month.
Required Qualifications
- 1–2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience
- Understanding of general accounting standards and financial principles
- Must be willing and able to work a schedule aligned with U.S. Pacific Standard Time (PST) or Mountain Standard Time (MST) business hours
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (i.e. lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with NetSuite and a modern AP system such as Airbase is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to improve workflows, streamline execution, or enhance outputs
- High level of precision and prompt attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills across all organizational levels
- Self-starter mindset with a drive to learn quickly and adapt in a growing company
- Exceptional breadth of interest shown through tangible, self-initiated ventures or deep community involvement; you love trying new things and may possess a demonstrated history of successfully pivoting or starting over in life and work
