Job Summary
Associate Accountant at Adi will be immersed in the financial operations of multi-million dollar development projects, supporting the accounting team and partnering with Construction PMs, Sales & Marketing, and senior leadership to manage project cash flows and ensure accurate recording from groundbreaking to closing day.Responsibilities include supporting monthly project draws and budget variance analysis, preparing and maintaining payment draw schedules, completing GL and bank reconciliations, and producing project financial reports. You’ll work with budget owners to refine cash flow forecasts, monitor project risks, review invoices for coding accuracy and approvals, maintain project budgets in Sage and ensure data flow with Procore, and assist with closing site records, HST returns, and T5018s. A CPA designation in progress and strong Excel skills are valued, along with proactive learning and a commitment to process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- 1–2 years of accounting experience, ideally in construction or real estate development — or a recent graduate who’s eager to build a career in project accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related field
- CPA designation in progress — you’re on the path and committed to the profession
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and working with large data sets
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and strong attention to detail
- Hands-on experience with accounting software (Sage experience is a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines
- A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn, ask questions, and solve problems
