Job Summary
Act on behalf of insurance companies and self-insured commercial organisations by handling a varied caseload, appearing regularly in court, and conducting investigations with policyholders. Review and interpret medical records, identify information requirements, and secure documentation from Plaintiff's representatives while adhering to client SLAs and reporting reserves. Draft legal documents, manage files including initial and updated reports, and attend pre-trial meetings and court reviews. Support partners in servicing existing clients and growing new business through technical excellence and innovation, while assisting in marketing and business development activities. Work within a collaborative team covering motor, disease, employers liability, and public liability claims in a modern, flexible environment.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years PQE
- Experience of personal injury litigation
- Highly determined individual able to adapt well within a demanding, fast-paced team
- Enjoy being challenged by complex legal issues and expanding your knowledge
- Focussed on delivering a highly professional service to clients, including compliance with client SLAs and MI requirements
- Experience in dealing with defence insurance claims will be an advantage but is not essential
- Must be based in the Belfast office
- Must be available for regular communication with clients nationally
- Must be able to appear regularly in the Court
- Must be able to carry out investigations with policyholders and take witness statements
- Must be able to review and interpret medical records and medical reports
- Must be able to identify information requirements and secure required documentation/evidence from Plaintiff's representatives
- Must be able to adhere to reporting and reserving requirements in relation to different client SLAs
- Must be able to attend and appear at court and pre-trial meetings and adhere to court timetables
- Must be able to draft all legal documents and client advice
- Must be able to deal with interlocutory proceedings, Court Reviews and client meetings
- Must be able to support the Partners in servicing existing clients, growing new business and maintaining relationships with clients using technical excellence and innovation
- Must be able to support marketing and business development activity with the team and the wider Clyde & Co casualty group
- Must be able to work in a hybrid environment with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home
