Job Summary

Provide personal care to patients, including oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, and ambulation. Assist with activities of daily living, feeding, and specimen collection while performing selected treatments like sitz baths and ice packs. Conduct phlebotomy, EKGs, and Foley catheter care under RN direction. Manage clerical duties at the nurse's station, including answering call-lights, reviewing medical records, and ordering supplies. Maintain supply areas and report broken equipment. Handle physical demands such as lifting 50 pounds and standing for extended periods. Work irregular hours with some exposure to communicable disease.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to perform EKG: 12 Lead & remote monitors
  • Ability to insert Foley catheter – care & specimens
  • Ability to perform BBG
  • Ability to perform peripheral venipuncture
  • Ability to perform postmortem care
  • Ability to answer intercom in a timely manner
  • Ability to disseminate information to appropriate staff member
  • Ability to relay pertinent information to appropriate nursing personnel
  • Ability to assemble, maintain, and review medical records according to hospital policy
  • Ability to order/record supplies in a timely manner
  • Maintains effective/efficient computer skills
  • Ability to perform all other tasks/responsibilities as necessary

Desired Qualifications

  • Certification as Nursing Assistant or equivalent
