Job Summary

Assistive Tech Specialist role supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through MAPS Lead responsibilities. Responsible for collaborating with the Center Coordinator and families to write year-one milestones of a three-year service plan, creating and updating a Virtual Community Resource Map (VCRM) detailing jobs, housing, transportation, and activities, and teaching the individual to use technology (phones, tablets, computers) to access VCRM tools. Tasks include meeting face-to-face or virtually to set goals, helping the individual achieve multiple milestones annually (such as independent living, job support, and community connections), delivering travel training with technology, building social capital and community networks, improving communication skills across home, community, and workplace, connecting the individual with benefits advisement and vocational rehabilitation resources, liaising with technology vendors, meeting yearly deadlines, monthly travel and virtual check-ins, documenting work for milestone validation, attending monthly provider meetings, and ensuring safety and compliance with agency policies. Requires strong tech proficiency, organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to person-centered practices. Travel to individuals monthly for face-to-face meetings is expected, with additional virtual or text/phone interactions throughout the month. Compliance with all applicable laws and Easter Seals policies is required. Must adhere to safety and service standards and maintain professional conduct with stakeholders. The role emphasizes independence, community integration, and the use of enabling technology to support continued success.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED, required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid Tennessee Driver’s License, with an F endorsement, and a clear driving history
  • Must maintain liability and auto insurance
  • Must maintain CPR and/or First Aid Certification and meet all DDA and agency training requirements
  • Experienced user of technology
  • Model and promote a positive and professional environment
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Communication and math skills sufficient to write reports and maintain records
  • Effective verbal and oral communication skills
