Job Summary
Assist with managing all general yard maintenance, repair, and daily operations of the feedyard. Coordinate and allocate tasks to yard crew; supervise maintenance activities in the shop; assist with repair and maintenance of pens and cattle-care facilities; ensure roadways and alleys are maintained; enforce safety policies; establish water trough cleaning schedules; create and maintain preventative maintenance records for yard equipment; communicate with the Yard Manager regarding operations; operation of heavy equipment; ensure overall functionality of the feedyard in collaboration with the Yard Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Hands on operation of yard machinery and equipment
- Positive cycling of maintenance tasks and repairs
- Ability to supervise and coordinate yard crew
- Knowledge of feedyard operations and cattle care facilities
- Experience with heavy machinery operation and maintenance
- Ability to maintain maintenance records and environmental records
- Safety policy implementation and compliance
- Physical ability to perform duties described (standing, walking, lifting, etc.)
- Travel around the feedyard as required
