Assistant Womens Cross Country Coach

Job Summary
Assist the Head Cross Country Coach in all aspects of Salem College's women's cross country program. Plan and conduct daily practices, provide instruction on running mechanics, race strategy, training principles, and injury prevention; support meet preparation, travel logistics, and team operations; help recruit and retain qualified student-athletes aligned with Salem College's academic and athletic mission; monitor student-athlete academic progress and personal development; foster a positive team culture centered on leadership, accountability, sportsmanship, and teamwork; assist with scheduling recruiting visits and communications with prospective student-athletes and families; support fundraising and program promotion; assist with equipment management and compliance with NCAA Division III and Salem College policies; drive a college-owned 15-passenger van to transport student-athletes as assigned; assist with social media and program promotion; perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma required
- Previous playing and/or coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level preferred
- Strong knowledge of fundamentals, strategies, and player development
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
