Job Summary
Assist the head coach in recruiting qualified student-athletes, organize recruiting outreach and travel to recruiting events, and support the administrative operations of the softball program (travel planning, compliance obligations, equipment acquisitions, general office work). Design and implement instruction for players, collaborate on game strategy, participate in video work, and assist with practice preparation and team development. Build relationships with students and stakeholders, contribute to community and fundraising activities, and support campus events and department initiatives while adhering to NCAA, Empire 8, and college policies. The successful candidate will also engage in teaching PHED/PE-related activities as assigned and help foster a diverse and inclusive athletic environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Playing and/or previous coaching experience preferred
- Clean driving record and a valid driver’s license and be insurable through the College
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of the sport
- Ability to provide academic guidance and mentoring to student-athletes
- Must have a thorough understanding of NCAA Division III rules and regulations
- Must be able to work flexible hours including game days and weekends
